New England Aquarium — New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium, a purpose-built aquarium on Boston's waterfront, opened in 1969; designed by Cambridge Seven Associates (now CambridgeSeven), it became a precedent-setting prototype for integrated architecture-and-exhibit aquarium design and was the firm's first major commission.
